Welcome to the website of 'de Specht'. The 'Specht' is a Dutch word for a woodpecker and in this case an accommodation in the woody and versatile Gaasterland in the province of Friesland. To be excact, the accommodation stands in the Fontein forest nearby a village called Oudemirdum.

You can find Oudemirdum in the south of Friesland against the IJsselmeer. The IJsselmeer is a grand lake that, as you can imagine, is a perfect location for everybody. From a calm and inspirering surrounding to fast watersports and other activities.

The accommodation has been adjusted for disabled people by means of a bedroom and a bathroom downstairs. The bathroom is accessable through a sliding door and the toilet has helping aids.
